"We have just come back from the most fabulous weekend. 6 adults and 6 children in the most enormous home imaginable. I've visited many stately homes over the years like Rippon Lea, or Werribee Mansion. This time we had the keys and felt welcome to make it our home for the weekend. An experience none of us will ever forget.

"We had an amazing time at Bishops Palace. It was a weekend none of us will ever forget. My wife and I took the master suite for the first night. With the master sitting room, I'm pretty sure you could have fitted our friends whole holiday house in the master space. The building is massive. The ceilings are ridiculously high. It's grand, it's regal, it's like living in a game of Cluedo, with thrice as many rooms. It was so much fun living the dream for a weekend without having to worry about all of the maintenance. It is overwhelming the amount of work the owners do to maintain, not just the massive house, but the beautiful gardens. It is like a botanical garden.
We walked around all weekend saying 'I can't believe they have let us use this place'. The owners were so relaxed and trusting. With 3 families of 4 (12 guests), you'd think it might get a bit cramped. Quite the opposite. All weekend we had to phone to find each other. 'How about a game of Trivial Pursuit in the drawing-room? Or would you rather put some golf on the west lawn?' My one tip; don't lose your keys, phone or wallet, you could be searching for hours."

"The palace is truly a unique getaway experience. The property is huge and filled with beautiful wall art, chandelier lighting, antique decor and comfortable beds. Use of facilities such as the spa, piano, and billiards room was a massive bonus. The gardens are well maintained and lovely for a fresh morning walk. Checkin was an easy process and Janine was wonderful and quick to respond to any questions we had. We really enjoyed our getaway and will definitely be visiting again soon!"
